9 Sneakers Parisians are Wearing Right Now
From the Coolest Miu Miu's to a Resurgence of the Classic Stan Smiths.
Most Parisians are wearing sneakers right now. In the summer, some people will wear sandals like the classic Birkenstock Arizona (in the taupe specifically). During the winter, black boots are common BUT sneakers are the most popular shoe style in Paris. It’s because we walk SO MUCH. I average about 12,000 steps per day without much effort. I’m walking to appointments, the grocery store, workouts, school drop-offs, etc. It’s a lot of walking and I’m in sneakers 99% of the time.
Let’s start at the top with the Adidas Taekwondo. I just got them in black and am thinking about them in white too. In my humble opinion, they are the next “IT” shoe and they are flying off the shelves! Now, let’s discuss the HOTTEST sneakers right now. By farrrr, it’s the Miu Miu + New Balance 530 suede sneaker in brown and they are sold out everywhere. I was chatting with a very chic Parisian about hers and she ordered hers from the Cannes store because they are sold out in Paris. If you can get your hands on them and want to spend over $1k for sneakers, you’ll have the envious eyes of everyone on your feet!
If you don’t want to drop that kinda cash on kicks, there are a lot of other cool options like the classic Converse Chuck Taylors in black or ivory. You can’t go wrong and they won’t go out of style. Another solid option are the Adidas Gazelles and I love the color way - maroon, almost yellow and brown. It will give you a pop of muted color plus butter yellow is chic right now. If you’re into the dad sneaker look, get Asics, New Balance or Salomons. You can't go wrong with any of these. I linked a specific color (Hazelnut, Quail, and Living Coral) for the Salomons, but any color is chic so pick your favorite. These chunky kicks are quintessential cool girl sneakers and go with everything from skirts to jeans.
Everyone is still wearing Sambas in Paris. I left the original grey and white version in Austin as they are TOO popular here. Instead, I’ve been wearing the black version since they don’t scream, “I’M WEARING SAMBAS.” If you’re looking for classic white sneakers, get the original Stan Smiths. In my opinion, the Stan Smiths are making a huge comeback. They were super popular about 2016-2017 and I think they are back. Sooo many Parisians wear these classics.

100% agree - a lot of Salomons and the Stan Smith is still a classic many Parisians haven’t given up on.
