After spending Christmas in Paris, I took the fast train to Geneva with my husband and young daughter to visit my in-laws for the new year. After four nights in Switzerland, we hopped on the train to Milan to explore Italy’s coolest city for three nights. We just scratched the surface and I’m already planning my next visit to explore the design + fashion scene.

Over three rainy days, I explored Milan with my husband, his parents, and my 4 year old, so these recommendations are suited for everyone who loves to eat and enjoys the arts. I’m excited to return and explore all the design-centric hot spots!
Where We Ate + Highly Recommend: (make reservations online in advance)
La Specialità- loved the pizza, sautéed spinach, and tiramisu, my favorite meal
A Santa Lucia- recommended by my client, Anya, and my in-law’s favorite meal
Da Zero- my favorite pizza on the trip, very casual and centrally located in Brera neighborhood
The Arts:
Triennale- fabulous design museum for furniture lovers
Duomo- start your trip here, it’s incredible and even better in person
Fondazione Prada- go here if you love contemporary art and architecture. Tbh, I enjoyed the architecture more than the art. Hot take?! It was pouring rain and the museum is outside the city center, so it’s kind of a trek out there. Plus, it’s not great for 4 year olds, so consider your group before heading out there. Overall, I love Prada and the architectural significance of the museum!
Gorgeous trip! Thanks for sharing!!
