Cou cou!
I love Tom Ford. He’s one of the greatest designers of all time. Ford’s era at Gucci in the 90s changed the fashion industry forever. He’s cool, he’s from Texas, he exudes effortlessness- but his books are overdone. I think I still own the bestselling big black and white book, so no judgment here.
Today, I’m focusing on books about European design and architecture that you can read, learn, and proudly display in your home. Let’s curate a stylish book collection that shows some personality and interest! The French LOVE books and it’s always really charming to see someone reading an actual book on the metro or at a Parisian café. While these books are a little too big for public transportation, they make beautiful and thought provoking home decor.
Eileen Gray: Her Life and Work by Peter Adam
Charlotte Perriand: The Modern Life by Justin McGuirk
The Private World of Yves Saint Laurent & Pierre Berge by Ivan Terestchenko
Vincent Van Duysen: Private by Vincent Van Duysen
A Passion for Jean Prouvé: From Furniture to Architecture by Jean Prouvé
Joseph Dirand: Interior by Joseph Dirand
Jean Royère by Patrick Seguin and Jean Royère
Atlas of Furniture Design by Mateo Kries and Jochen Eisenbrand
Le Corbusier & Pierre Jeanneret: Chandigarh, India by Patrick Seguin
Féau & Cie: The Art of Wood Paneling: Boiseries from the 17th Century to Today by Robert Polidori
Merci beaucoup for reading this week’s Postcard from Paris! I appreciate you. Currently, I’m in Florida with my family after spending two weeks in Austin. What a whirlwind! Bon Dimanche! Happy Sunday!

Great list! Just ordered the Perriand book. She deserved more recognition for all her design contributions and for being a trailblazing woman! Thanks for sharing your recommendations.
This title made me chuckle. The black and white king of coffee table books and flat lays. Thanks for the reccs!
